The Republic Day celebration at Vagdevi Vilas School on 26th of January was a grand and a heartwarming event that brought together students, staff, and parents to honour India’s democratic values and the adoption of the Indian Constitution. The day was filled with patriotic fervour, cultural performances, and a spirit of unity that reflected the true essence of Republic Day.
The celebrations began with school band playing patriotic tunes and escorting the chief guest Sri K. Harish, Chairman Vagdevi Vilas Institutions, Administrator Sri Pramod Bhat, Principal Smt Y. Padma Sagar, Vice Principal Smt Rajyalakshmi, Research and Development head, Smt Sindhu R., Academic Advisors and other dignitaries. The flag was unfurled with great pride, as the students stood in attention. The national anthem was sung with true patriotism.
Students across grades presented a variety of cultural programs that showcased the rich cultural diversity and heritage of India.
The performances included a soulful rendition of medley of mellifluous patriotic songs. The dance performances were colourful, energetic, and filled with patriotic fervour. Speeches were delivered by students in Hindi, English and Kannada reflecting the pride and honour of being Indian, emphasizing unity, integrity, and patriotism.
Karate display by the students showcased self-defence techniques, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and mental focus alongside developing physical strength. Yoga display by students showcased discipline and mindfulness in their enthralling performance.
Honourable Chairman Sri K Harish motivated the students with his inspiring speech which focussed on the importance of Republic Day, the role of the Constitution in shaping the nation, and the significance of preserving the democratic values of India. The speech also encouraged young citizens to contribute to the nation’s growth and prosperity.
The students were honoured by the Chief guest for their achievement in academics and sports at various interschool competition and National level competitions like INSEF 2025.
The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by the organizing committee. The celebrations were an opportunity to remind everyone of the sacrifices made by our eminent leaders to establish a democratic republic. The audience carried a renewed sense of patriotism and national pride. The event served as a reminder of the importance of upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution, inspiring a generation to work towards Viksit Bharat and Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
