Vagdevi Vilas School, Marathahalli celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm and vigour. The day started off with lively procession led by the School Band team, followed by students showcasing Karnataka’s traditional dance forms such as Kamsale and Yakshagana bringing alive the cultural richness of the state.
The Chief Guest, Shri K. Harish, Chairman of Vagdevi Vilas Institutions, presided over the function. Hoisting the national flag was followed by hoisting the state flag as the students sang ‘Vande Mataram and Nada Geethe’. The entire atmosphere reverberated with the true spirit of patriotism.
This was followed by a series of scintillating cultural performances by the students of various grades, each performance highlighting the vibrant tradition, folklore, and diverse cultural heritage of Karnataka. Students performed a series of cultural programmes such as group songs, folk dances, traditional dance forms of Karnataka like Kolata, Kamsale, Yakshagana and many more. Fancy dress portrayed the eminent personalities of Karnataka like Kempegowda, Saalumarada Thimmakka, Kitturu Rani Chennamma and Onake Obavva etc. Students captivated the audience with the vibrant performances. The students of various grades delivered speeches that showcased the rich culture, heritage and legacy of this state.
Chairman, Shri K. Harish in his address, emphasized on the importance of Kannada as a language and the need to preserve and promote one’s mother tongue. Sir also highlighted the significance of celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the state, urging students to take pride in their heritage.
The event was a resounding success, leaving the audience with a deep sense of pride and fulfillment, celebrating the spirit of Karnataka in all its grandeur.
