On 15th of August 2024, Vagdevi Vilas School Marathahalli celebrated the Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event was organized to mark the 78th anniversary of our nation’s independence and to honor the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our country.
The event began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Chief Guest, Sri. Pramod Bhat followed by the singing of the national anthem. The entire school reverberated with the sound of patriotic songs, instilling a sense of pride and unity among the students and staff. Smt. Padma Sagar, Principal of the Marathahalli branch then delivered the welcome address. In her speech, she reminded everyone of the importance of this day and the responsibility we have as citizens of our country. The cultural program commenced with a series of performances by students from various grades. The program included patriotic songs, dance performances, and speeches reiterating the sacrifice of various freedom fighters, which left the audience spellbound. A special fancy dress event portraying nationalist leaders was also held, and students participated enthusiastically.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by one of the senior students, expressing gratitude to the teachers, participants, and volunteers for their efforts in making the event a grand success. The celebration ended on a high note with everyone singing “Vande Mataram,” creating an atmosphere of national pride and joy.The Independence Day celebration was a memorable event that instilled a deep sense of patriotism in everyone present. It reminded us of the sacrifices made by our forefathers and the importance of maintaining the hard-earned freedom of our nation.
