The Bhagavad Gita, often referred to as the “Gita,” is one of the most revered spiritual and philosophical texts in Hinduism. It is a 700-verse scripture that forms part of the Indian epic, “The Mahabharata”. The conversation between lord Krishna and Arjuna imparts profound wisdom on life, duty, spirituality, and the nature of the universe.
The primary aim of the Abhiyana was to promote the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and help students practice self-control, inculcate moral values, mindful action and foster devotion.
The Bhagavad Gita Abhiyana was held on 10th December 2024 at our school campus in its full grandeur. The function was presided over by Chairman Shri K Harish. The programme began with an inaugural dance, setting a spiritual tone for the occasion. The lighting of the lamp and the offering of flowers (pushparchane) to Lord Krishna and Divine Book, the Bhagavad Gita, added a sacred touch to the ceremony.
Chairman Shri K Harish, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the Bhagavad Gita in facing challenges in life and emphasized on detachment from the results of one’s actions. He quoted some of the shlokas from the Gita and explained its relevance in achieving success in life with integrity.
The event proceeded with the Gita song and the Dhyana shlokas. Students from different levels participated enthusiastically, chanting shlokas from all the chapters of the Bhagavad Gita followed by Gita Arathi. To conclude the celebration, prasadham was distributed to all attendees, leaving everyone with a sense of divine fulfillment and spiritual enrichment. The Bhagavad Gita Abhiyana was a truly uplifting and enlightening experience for all those involved.
