Showcasing Innovative Young Minds
The INSEF Regional Fair 2025, organized by the Science Society of India in association with Vagdevi Vilas School, Marathahalli, was held on 11thJanuary, 2025. The event brought together 24 shortlisted projects from students across the state, showcasing innovative ideas in various fields such as biology, environmental science, energy, technology, physics, computer science, and engineering. Some exceptional projects that stood out included “Cationic Coordination and Structural Preferences in the Polysaccharide Capsule of Cryptococcus neoformans,” “Blind Vision,” “AlgaQuity,” and “Weather Guard: An AI-Driven Automated System for Protecting Laundry.”
The fair commenced with an inaugural ceremony presided over by Chief Guest Smt. Indira Nair, Academic Advisor, Vagdevi Vilas Institutions. Other dignitaries present at the event included Sri. Narayan Iyer, Founder of Science Society of India and INSEF, Smt. Sindhu R, Director of R&D Department, VVI, Smt. Rajyalekshmi, Vice Principal, VVSM, and Sri. N. Govindan, Deputy Director, R&D Department, VVI.
Following the inauguration, the projects were judged, and later, the public was invited to view the exhibits. The event concluded with a valedictory function. The Chief Guest of the day, Mr. Parag Dhol, a renowned venture capitalist and partner at Athera Venture Partners, presided over the function, along with Smt. Padma Sagar, Principal, Vagdevi Vilas School, Marathahalli, and other dignitaries. The Principal in her address, emphasized the importance of science fairs and appreciated the participants. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals were awarded to deserving students. Top Achievers included:
– R. Raghav (VIII) from VVSM (junior category) won a Bronze Medal for his project “Epileptic Seizure and Health Risk Monitoring System.”
– Radhika Thakur (X) and Aranya Ojha (X) from VVSV, who secured a Bronze Medal for their project “Weather Guard: An AI-driven Automated System for Protecting Laundry.”
The judges and guides were also felicitated for their efforts. The program was yet another successful event organized by Vagdevi Vilas Institutions.
